NEW PARTNERSHIP EMERGES TO UNLOCK HYDROGEN OPPORTUNITIES IN EAST LONDON, SOUTH AFRICA

Mitochondria continues to make strides towards developing projects in the Hydrogen Sector through another significant partnership with Green Hydrogen Solutions (GH2S), an organization that develops solutions to advance technology and projects that will move the world to Net Zero. Team members from Mitochondria joined GH2S for a site visit to the East London Industrial Development Zone (ELIDZ) in Eastern Cape on 25 April 2024 to explore organizations located in ELIDZ seeking to decarbonise their operations. The team also attended the ELIDZ Stakeholder and Investors Engagement, attended by the Premier of the Eastern Cape, the Honourable Oscar Mbuyane, and the Private Sector players interested in various development projects in the renewable energy sector. Mitochondria and GH2S have signed an NDA and are looking forward to collaborating on Hydrogen Projects in East London starting with a Hydrogen pilot of up to 1.5MW in year 1 and incrementally scaling up to 10MW, unlocking the ELIDZ hydrogen potential.

MR MASHUDU RAMANO CONTINUES TO STRENGTHEN GLOBAL PARTNERSHIPS

Our CEO & Founder, Mr. Mashudu Ramano took an extensive tour to Europe at the end of 2023 to meet with current and prospective partners. The first stop was Graz, Austria to our Technology Partners, AVL, where he met with the Senior Executives including Chairman & CEO Helmut List, Prof. Kangki Lee, Senior VP of High Power Systems, and Gunter Figer, Director for Business Development & Sales of High Power Systems. Other fruitful discussions included a site visit at SolydEra, Italy, a world-leader in stack manufacturing for fuel cells. He took an extensive tour of their research & development facility. His last stop was at Elcogen in Helsinki where he met with the executives of the organization to discuss ways to further develop the hydrogen industry here in South Africa.

MITOCHONDRIA ATTENDS THE INAUGURAL LESOTHO MINING INDABA KHOTLA, 25-26 APRIL 2024

Mitochondria was honoured to accept an invitation to participate in the Inaugural Lesotho Mining Indaba Khotla under the theme: The Future of Lesotho’s Mining Landscape. Representatives across the sector joined discussions around revitalizing Lesotho’s Mining Industry in a sustainable manner ensuring future productivity and viability. Mr. Mashudu Ramano, CEO & Founder, encouraged the audience to find new, sustainable means to develop mining of the future embracing the principles of Phytomining in his address on  “Changing Paradigms in Mining – Options for African Mining Development”, bringing a new perspective to mining on the African continent. Mr. Otshepeng Moraka, Systems Engineer, spoke on a panel titled “Trifecta Discussion, Water, Energy & Hydrogen” discussing the interplay between these crucial elements, exploring sustainable practices, innovations, and potential synergies for the mining industry.

MR. MASHUDU RAMANO CO-HOSTS A CAREERS DAY AT ST JAMES HIGH SCHOOL IN MOKHOTLONG, LESOTHO, 26 APRIL 2024

Mashudu Ramano, CEO & Founder, joined Professor Marake from the National University of Lesotho, to facilitate a Careers Day at St James High School in Mokhotlong. 500 High School Students were in attendance and engaged in insightful discussions about the prospects for their future spanning the day. Mr. Ramano believes it was a fruitful and inspiring day for these students and continues to participate in opportunities such as these to ensure upcoming generations are inspired to take charge of their destiny.

MITOCHONDRIA WELCOMES MS PHOPHI NETSIANDA TO THE TEAM

Phophi Netsianda

Mitochondria Energy welcomes Phophi Netsianda to the team in our Legal Department. Phophi holds a BA Law and Political studies degree from Wits University, as well as an LLB degree from Wits University and completed her articles at a Boutique Law Firm in Sandton, Johannesburg and has worked on Eskom REIPPPP Bid Window 5 projects acting as transactional advisers for Eskom assisting them to reach legal close. Phophi is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
